Champion Cards

To be considered in play, the champion card must be face-up on the battlefield (even as a battle card). Treat all champion abilities like an extra spell, playable on a player’s turn, only once per hand, unless passive. Champions can be challenged and defeated by following the rules here.


Amazon Champion

GENERATION 1

Pay two (2) to add one (+1) to the attack AND defend of one (1) battle card. Can only be used once per hand but NOT to champions or during sudden death. Stacks with all other effects in order played.


Emperor Champion

GENERATION 1

Once per hand, choose one (1):

1 player gives you 3 Zi

2 players give you 2 Zi each

Up to 6 players give you 1 Zi each

Take 4 Zi from the paid pile


Golem Champion

GENERATION 1

Shuffle this card into your deck then look at the top three (3) cards. Add one (1) to your hand and return the others to the bottom of your deck. If played as a battle card, you pot and fold. Ability can only be used if the player has a spell turn available. After the ability, if the champion is drawn again, treat it like any normal card. Always ask the next player to cut your deck after a shuffle.


Jingozi Champion

GENERATION 1

Challenge any one (1) player to a Jingozi duel once per hand. Keep and return all spells to the bottom of your deck. Instructions for Jingozi duels here.


Monk Champion

GENERATION 1

Take one (1) Zi from the paid pile for any spell you burn AND choose one (1) for EVERY spell you play:

Force 1 player to pay 3 Zi

Take 3 Zi from the paid pile

Move 3 Zi from the pot to the paid pile


Ninja Champion

GENERATION 1

All your battle cards cost zero (0). Take three (3) Zi from EVERY pot at the end of a hand. If there is not enough Zi in the pot, take what you can. Even applies to pots kept for the next hand.


Samurai Champion

GENERATION 1

Pot one (1) to draw one (1) card. OR pot two (2) to draw two (2) cards and DISCARD any one (1) from your hand. Can be used once per hand.
